Whatsapp Business App
An app called Whatsapp Business has been released for use on the Android platform. It is completely free for use by businesses in India. This app is available on Google Play Store, and it can be used by small and medium businesses. You need to keep track of all new features of this app, and also understand the difference between Whatsapp Messenger and Whatsapp Business.
Google Search Console
A beta version of the Google Search Console has been introduced with the following new reporting features –
• Up to 16 months of old search reports with parameters like clicks, impressions and CTR can be used to provide a Search Performance Report.
• There is a report of how your website is indexed, called Index Coverage Report. It would also flag off necessary index issues and additionally, it would inform you why indexation has not taken place.
• A report about errors in the URLs of Accelerated Mobile Pages and also prior warnings of such errors, called AMP Status Report, is available.
• A Job Posting Report gives warnings and error reports about job postings done on a website.
Instagram posts can be scheduled in advance using a new addition to their app. There are some third party apps like HootSuite and Buffer which can also help in scheduling Instagram posts.
AMP Test Tool in Google
If you wish to test whether your webpage is compatible to mobile phones, then you would be using AMPs (accelerated mobile pages). The webmaster can use Google to check if their page supports AMP or not. Even visitors or users of a particular webpage can check the search results for AMP compatibility.
Restaurant owners listed on Google My Business (GMB) page can now directly edit their menus on the page, or add new menu items.
For a YouTube channel to be able to monetize itself, the new policy states that it should have at least 1000 subscribers and total watch time of at least 4000 hours in the last 12 months.
Facebook Local Feed
The news feed of Facebook will now accord priority to local news in order to make it more relevant.
Videos on GMB
The Google My Business app has introduced a new feature which would allow business pages to upload their videos, just like they have been able to upload pictures earlier.
